Location
This IIT will be held at Guest and Holiday House St. Carolus in Tengeru, Arusha.
The guest and holiday house opened its doors in 2017. It is at the foot of Mount Meru, surrounded by a large expanse of gardens. It is within walking distance of Lake Duluti, which offers great leisure facilities, and the centre of Tengeru.
The guesthouse is an ideal base for excursions to the national parks as well as for hiking tours on Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru.
The house is quiet, but very conveniently positioned on the connecting road from Kilimanjaro Airport and Arusha. The airport is about 30 minutes away; the city of Arusha and the Arusha National Park can be reached in approximately 20 minutes.
In addition to guests interested in coming for tourism, it is also ideal for people who simply want to escape from the hustle of everyday life. The cloister and chapel provide an area for peace and reflection.
Rooms
All the rooms have modern bathrooms. The living and sleeping areas are furnished with furniture made by Tanzanian craftsmen.
Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.
In addition to the guest rooms, the hotel has a restaurant with a spacious terrace, from which you can enjoy a magnificent view of the tropical landscape and its gardens. There is also a cosy lounge with satellite TV, meeting rooms, a library and a church.

The venue is located approximately 53 min (39.2 km) from Kilimanjaro International Airport to St. Carolus Retreat House without traffic via Arusha – Himo Rd/A23.
Fastest route, despite the usual traffic
From Kilimanjaro International Airport, head north on Kilimanjaro Airport Rd about 6 km
Turn left onto Arusha – Himo Rd/A23 about 32.5 km
Turn left about 290 m
Turn right onto Duluti Bypass about 450 m. You will see St.Carolus, Tengeru entrances sign.

We realize that many of you will be traveling a distance to be part of the event, so we would love to support make your local transportation to the program as easy as possible!
Our goal is to support everyone in getting to the retreat in a cost-efficient way, with as much ease as possible. We humbly request that if you are able to share a ride, please do so, it will help others who want to conserve their money and you will get to experience fellowship on your journey, before you even arrive at the retreat center.
